Celebrity-owned hotels - where the stars want you to stay
by Tina Lofthouse and Sophie Morris
Headbangers’ hopes were dashed recently when rumours that Iron Maiden were set to open a “rock hotel” were firmly quashed
There had been rumours that the heavy-metal moshers were opening a new pad in London as a late-night retreat for bands. The hotel is certainly a reality – the Sanctum Soho opens in March and has a roof-top spa (!) – but the only connection with Iron Maiden is that one of their co-managers is an investor in the project.
But if you’re looking for a hotel with celebrity cachet there are plenty out there. Fancy spending the night as a guest of Bono, Clint Eastwood, Jason Priestley or – wait for it – Benny from ABBA? Or how about jungle trekking, Apocalypse Now-style, courtesy of Francis Ford Coppola?
Find out how as we take a tour of the some of the world’s finest celebrity-owned hotels.
